A Property Owner Agreement (POA) is an agreement between the property owner and Columbia Gas to continue service at a rental property in the event that a tenant would request a disconnection of service. To submit a POA, simply print and complete the online form and mail it to NiSource, P.O. Box 2318, Columbus, OH 43216-2318. Typically, it takes 10 business days to process a POA.
If you as the property owner wish to be notified in advance of possible disconnection of service, print and complete the accompanying online notification form and mail it along with the POA.
A landlord or authorized agent may update a POA with the following information:
Mailing address and contact phone number
Name(s) of authorized person(s)
Change name due to marriage, divorce, death of spouse, establishment of estate
Add or delete a service location on an existing POA
To cancel a POA, the property owner or agent must submit the request in writing in advance of the requested effective date. We will place an order to discontinue service on any account in the POA name unless the property owner requests that service should be left on. Requests may be faxed directly to 614-460-6203, or mailed to NiSource, P.O. Box 2318, Columbus, OH 43216-2318.
