If you are moving out and wish to have gas service disconnected
at your address, please call Columbia Gas DirectLink at 1-800-344-4077. After
the greeting on the automated self-service system, press option 3 to start,
stop, or transfer service, then press option 2 and follow the prompts to enter
your information. We cannot guarantee requests to discontinue service for a
day that is less than three days from the date of your call.
Be sure to have the following information handy:
Your account number
Your current service address (the one you're moving out of)
Your home phone number
Your new mailing address (that you're moving into)
If you rent, the name, address and phone number of the property
The date you want your service terminated
To transfer natural gas service to the person moving into your
previous home, you and the new resident may want to agree on a date for the
transfer of service. Once the date of transfer has been determined, please ask
the person moving in to contact Columbia Gas DirectLink at 1-800-344-4077 about
having the service placed in his or her name. You will continue to be billed
for all gas usage until the date the connecting party schedules a service transfer.
The insure that you are billed only to the date you wish to have
service disconnected, you may choose to contact our office and request that
service be terminated as of the desired date. Provided the new resident requests
service as of the same date, there will be not termination of service. The account
will then be transferred to the new resident' name. Call Columbia Gas DirectLink
at 1-800-344-4077. After the greeting on the automated self-service system,
press option 3 to start, stop, or transfer service, then press option 2 and
follow the prompts to enter your information.
